Terms of Use
Please read these terms carefully before booking a course, trip, or using our services.
1. Booking, Confirmation, and Payments
Course & Trip Bookings
All bookings for PADI courses, specialty programs, and guided dive expeditions are subject to availability and formal confirmation by Scuba Journals.
Payment Terms
Full or partial deposit (as specified at booking) is required to secure your seat or dive spot. Balance payments must be cleared prior to the start of the course or dive departure date.
2. Diver Prerequisites, Certification, & Health
Certification & Logbooks
Divers participating in non-entry-level dive trips must present proof of certification from a recognized training agency (e.g., PADI) and a logged dive history appropriate for the site parameters.
Medical Fitness
All candidates enrolling in PADI training must complete the standard PADI Diver Medical Questionnaire. If a medical condition is flagged, physician approval is strictly required before any in-water activities.
Refusal of Service
Scuba Journals reserves the right to deny participation to any diver who fails to meet prerequisites, exhibits unsafe behavior, or appears under the influence of alcohol or drugs, without refund.
3. Cancellations, Weather, & Refunds
Weather & Environmental Disruptions
Dive trips and ocean sessions are weather-dependent. If Scuba Journals cancels a trip or session due to adverse sea conditions, safety concerns, or force majeure, the session will be rescheduled or converted into credit for future use.
Customer Cancellations
Cancellations made by the customer within our specified short-notice window (typically 48–72 hours prior to departure, or as defined per specific itinerary) are non-refundable.
4. Equipment Use & Liability
Rental Gear
Divers are responsible for inspecting provided rental equipment prior to use and must return all gear in working order. Damages resulting from misuse or negligence will incur replacement fees.
Liability Release
Participation in scuba diving, snorkeling, and boat travel involves inherent risks. All participants must sign the standard Liability Release and Assumption of Risk forms prior to entering the water.
